Go Texan Day Smiles

Rummel Creek Elementary second graders Kennedy Carter, Sophie Lamb, Sara Grace Salidvar and Siena Yoder take a brief smile break before heading to the Rummel Creek gym for square dancing on Go Texan Day. Every class in Rummel Creek, from pre-k to fifth grade, performs to strum-humming songs in a back-to-back, daylong celebration.

Parents, grandparents and friends packed the school gymnasium to watch students gussied up in their best country gear. The performances are directed by the school’s health fitness instruction team, which includes coaches Debbie Moore, Judy Konieczny, Rosie Tashakor and Margaret Triana.

Ten Gallon Hats and a Texan Celebration

The only thing missing were the spurs at Rummel Creek Elementary’s recent Go Texan Day celebration.

Kindergartners Mason Keller and Reid Otermat paired up with classmates for square dancing and smile making. Every grade in Spring Branch’s Rummel Creek Elementary, from pre-k to fifth grade, performed to strum-humming songs in back-to-back, daylong celebrations.

Parents, grandparents and friends packed the school gymnasium to see students gussied up in their best country gear while performing the choreographed moves produced by the health fitness instruction team, which includes coaches Debbie Moore, Judy Konieczny, Rosie Tashakor and Margaret Triana.
