Memorial and Stratford Tackle Another Round of Football Playoffs

Both Memorial and Stratford varsity football teams were victorious in their second round of division-level playoffs on Saturday Nov. 23. The two teams are headed into the third round this Saturday with Stratford teamed up against Georgetown, and Memorial against Manvel.

The Spartans beat Friendswood 34-7 Saturday in a Class 4A-Division 1 area game at Mercer Stadium in Sugar Land. Freddy Price threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Will Bredthauer with only eight minutes left in the game.

On Saturday, Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. Stratford will play Georgetown in the Bryan ISD Greens Stadium. A State finalist in 2012, Georgetown is predicted to be the opponent to beat.

This past Saturday, the Mustangs also won their Class 5A-Division 1 game against Cypress Ridge at Pridgeon Stadium with a final score of 49-13. Running back Matt Collins had 18 carries for a total of 107 yards and scored three times.

 The Mustangs will play Manvel Saturday, Dec.1, at 2 p.m. in the Fort Bend ISD Mercer Stadium. Manvel is currently 11-1 and Memorial is 8-4 — the game is anticipated to be close.

Rachel's Challenge Event - Dec. 4 from 6-7PM SBMS Auditorium - Join us!

Spring Branch Middle School is excited to host a Rachel's Challenge Community event on Wednesday, December 4th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the SBMS auditorium.

Parents, mentors, and community members are invited to experience this special event. Our students will have an opportunity to hear about Rachel’s story on December 4th during grade level assemblies. Rachel's Challenge exists to equip and inspire individuals to replace acts of violence, bullying, and negativity with acts of respect, kindness, and compassion.

Rachel's Challenge is based on the life and writings of Rachel Joy Scott who was the first victim of the Columbine school shootings in 1999.

Through her example, Rachel's Challenge is making a positive impact in the lives of millions of people every year.
