FamilyPoint Resources recently honored Stratford High School senior Farah Nematpour with the organization's Roberta Keys Torn Service & Leadership Award during the organization's annual partnership breakfast. The award honors the FamilyPoint student that best exemplifies the heart of a servant and who posses exceptional leadership qualities.
Inspired by the life of Roberta Keys Torn, FamilyPoint Resources created the leadership award to honor and inspire the next generation of community leaders in Spring Branch. Roberts was a remarkable servant-leader who always "tried to live out God's purpose for her life" by serving others, especially those in difficult circumstances.
Farah, a senior at Stratford High School, first connected with FamilyPoint as a volunteer in the summer of 2013.
Since then, she has been a fixture with FamilyPoint, volunteering at all of their summer programs and with their Homework Help program.
Farah was introduced by last year's winner, also a Stratford senior, Ahmed Butt. Both students are pictured here with FamilyPoint Executive Director, Jason Roberts.
