Spring Branch ISD is pleased to announce Jessica Tejada as the new principal at Edgewood Elementary.
Principal Tejada has worked in public education for 17 years. She began her career in 2001 as a teacher and a math specialist in Pasadena ISD. Since 2009, she has held a number of administrative positions in Houston ISD, including service as an instructional coordinator, assistant principal and principal.
A University of Houston graduate, she earned a bachelor of science degree in interdisciplinary studies, and she also holds a master of education degree in curriculum and instruction.
“I am truly honored to serve as Edgewood’s principal,” she said. “Our focus will be on high academic standards, positive school culture, and parental and community partnership to provide our students with choices for their future.”
“I believe that if we focus on both high academic standards and social-emotional learning, it will provide our students with the necessary skills to be productive members of society,” she also said.
Principal Tejada replaces former campus leader Vivian Pratts, who has retired.
