An Evening with Jose Perez

Jose Perez has been flipping his satirical brush at society for more than a half a century.

He has become one of America's foremost living satirical artists to work in the style of the old masters. His personality is as unique as his art. Jose has painted his way through life. His paintings are his voice, expressing his commentary on society. His brush is his magic wand, capturing the story through animated characters on the visual stage of the canvas.

Who else but Jose Perez would ever think of staging a volleyball game on the deck of a pirate ship?

Jose Perez is called "the Will Rogers of American Art" for his socially-relevant images. He has been internationally acclaimed for these drawings, paintings, and books. The Wellcome Institute of the History of Medicine of London has said," Perez is a genius. His work will be of historical interest." Jose Perez's humor has proven that " laughter is the best medicine." The juxtaposition of animals personifying human roles in the world, raises awareness of issues.

We talk to the animals, but do we listen?

His positioning and characterization of issues using animals, makes us stop, see, hear, think and become aware of their wisdom without words. He shows his respect and understanding as he elevates the polar bear, the orangoutang, the alligator, the warthog, the rhino, the elephant, the lion, the rabbit and all creatures great and small. The story and the images touch our souls, so that we should never forget, think and understand that which is spoken through images.

Once you know his work, you will vote with all the animals to proclaim him, "An Artistic Genius".
