The American Academy of Pediatrics reports that about 80 percent of people with learning disabilities have dyslexia, a mechanical learning disability which impacts reading, writing and spelling. It does not impact intellectual ability. Early detection of dyslexia in children is critical in preventing the shame and learning loss that can result if this condition goes unaddressed.

Join us at this public program as Carole Wills presents and then leads a discussion of the film, The Big Picture: Rethinking Dyslexia. Ms. Wills has played an active role in the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) at national and local level. In addition, she is a past president of the IDA’s Houston Branch, among other board and advisory positions. She currently serves as Head of School at The Briarwood School. Carole has a passion for educating others about dyslexia!
