Dear SBISD Parents and Staff,
SBISD is monitoring the potential for heavy rainfall and possible flooding beginning Saturday afternoon through Monday morning.
The National Weather Service estimates widespread rain totaling 3-7 inches across the City of Houston area, with some areas potentially receiving 8-12 inches of rain.
We currently plan for a normal school day on Monday, Oct. 26. However, in the event of severe weather or other conditions that would necessitate closing of school or a delayed start, please be reminded of the ways we will keep you informed and updated.
The District Communications Office will communicate via:
Call-Outs. All numbers on record (cell, home and office) would receive a call through our School-Messenger call-out system. Calls would be in both English and Spanish.
Text Messages. Text message notifications would go out to families and staff who have opted in to our text message service.
Email. Email notifications would be sent to those families for whom we have email addresses. Staff would receive an ALL-SBISD email. Social Media. Follow SBISD on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram @SBISD
News Media. Monitor local T.V. and radio stations for the latest information.
SBISD Website. Monitor the SBISD website at www.springbranchisd.com.
The City of Houston recommends that residents take steps to prepare for the potential weather we may see in the days ahead. For more information about the major storm predicted for our area, monitor the National Weather Service.
Thank you.
As always, the safety and security of our students and staff is our top priority.
Have a safe and wonderful weekend.
Sincerely, SBISD Communications
