Breakfast/Lunch Prices Will Remain the Same for 2017-2018

Student breakfast and lunch prices will remain the same for the new school year that begins on Monday, Aug. 21. SBISD has maintained some of the lowest paid meal prices in Texas for many years. Student meal prices for the 2017-2018 school year are:

Breakfast Regular Price (Elementary and Secondary) – $0.75
Breakfast Reduced Price (Elementary and Secondary) – $0.30

Elementary Lunch Regular Price – $2.00
Secondary Lunch Regular Price – $2.25
Reduced Price Lunch (Elementary and Secondary) – $0.40

Adult Meal Prices (Staff and/or Visitors) – Breakfast, $2.00; Lunch, $3.50

SBISD’s Child Nutrition Services Department operates the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program in qualifying schools serving more than 1.7 million breakfasts and more than 4.1 million school lunches each school year.  Elementary and secondary students who meet eligibility criteria may qualify for reduced-price meals.  Applications for free and reduced-price meals should be completed online and submitted as soon as possible at the beginning of the new school year. These applications may also be completed and submitted at campus locations.

Additionally, students enrolled this school year at 29 SBISD campuses will qualify for free federal breakfast and lunch under the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.  While meal applications are no longer required for these campuses, important household information is still required in order to realize the full amount of benefits available to these schools.  Please visit the CNS website at www.springbranchisd.com/cns for additional important information.

Monthly menus and nutritional information are posted on the CNS Website at www.springbranchisd.com. Additionally, the district accepts online pre-payments toward student accounts. Please visit www.schoolcafe.com and then follow the directions to find your student. This link also provides families an easy way to monitor their child’s eating habits. Cash and personal checks are accepted at all campuses. Credit/debit card payments are accepted online.

To access the online payment system or submit applications, please visit the district’s Child Nutrition Services website at www.springbranchisd.com/cns and follow payment directions. For details or questions, call 713-251-1150.

Director Chris Kamradt leads the CNS Department, which has more than 340 employees. It operates under the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program with policies and direction from the U.S. and Texas Departments of Agriculture.
