The Big Picture:
- In 2016, the MAM Back to School Program provided new school clothes for 6,189 disadvantaged children.
- MAM has been providing uniforms for over 30 years.
How the Program Works:
- MAM teams up with school counselors to identify the number of children in need of school clothes.
- All year long, MAM collects donations from businesses, churches, and individuals to cover costs for the clothing vouchers.
- MAM sends each school shopping vouchers for the families, to be used for school clothing at nearby stores. Just like a gift certificate!
- Families use the vouchers to buy new clothes. Kids have the same shopping experience as their classmates. In the child's eyes, Mom and Dad are the real heroes!
