Spring Branch ISD is pleased to name Dana Johnson as the new school principal at Bunker Hill Elementary.
Principal Johnson has worked in public education 19 years, all in SBISD. She began her district career as a teacher at Memorial Drive Elementary. She has also taught at Buffalo Creek Elementary and was a school improvement specialist at Rummel Creek Elementary. Since 2006, Ms. Johnson has been assistant principal at Spring Branch Middle School.
She holds a bachelor of science degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, and earned a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Houston.
“I am both excited and honored to be selected as the principal at Bunker Hill Elementary,” Principal Johnson said. “I am passionate about education and supporting every student, every day, in every classroom.”
“My experiences in SBISD over the past 19 years as an elementary classroom teacher, a school improvement specialist, and as an assistant principal have helped shape my vision of supporting the school through instructional leadership and teamwork among teachers, parents and students working to ensure we reach each and every student who walks through the door every day,” she also said.
Principal Johnson replaces Valerie Muniz, who has been named the director at Westchester Academy for International Studies.
