of Eight SBISD Soccer Teams Advance to the Playoffs; Four Teams Still In
Stratford HS Girls defeated Crosby in bi-district action
before being defeated by Friendswood in a shoot-out in the area round.
Northbrook HS Boys advanced to the bi-district round
and were defeated by Goose Creek Memorial, 1-0.
Two
Teams Have Advanced to the Regional Quarterfinals Thus Far!
On Thursday, April 3rd, the Memorial HS
Girl’s Soccer team defeated Cy-Fair, 5-1, in the area round to advance to the
regional quarterfinals. They defeated Bellaire, 6-0, in bi-district.
Memorial
will face the winner of Cinco Ranch/Elsik on Tuesday, April 8th at a
site and time dependent on the opponent.
On Thursday, April 3rd, the Spring Woods
HS Girl’s Soccer team defeated Kingwood Park, 7-6, in a shoot-out, to advance
to the regional quarterfinal round. In previous rounds, Spring Woods defeated
Galena Park and Pearland Dawson.
The
Tigers will face George Ranch at Traylor Stadium on Tuesday, April 8th
at either 5pm or 6pm depending on whether it is a single game or double-header.
Playoff
Soccer Games This Evening
42-4A District Boy’s District champion, Spring Woods,
will face Houston Davis at Spring Woods HS at 7:00pm in sectional action. They
defeated CE King and Sharpstown in previous rounds to advance to tonight’s
game.
42-4A District runner-up, Stratford, will face
Houston Lee at Tully Stadium at 7:00pm in sectional action. They defeated KIPP
Houston & Friendswood to advance to tonight’s game.
