SBISD in the Press: Legislators Advocate Reform

Two local legislators representing parts of Spring Branch Independent School District say public education will be a top priority as they go into the legislative session in January.

However, while concerns over testing may be addressed, school funding is likely to be put on the back burner while challenges to the current system make their way through the courts.

"We have to put that aside until the court cases are resolved and hope the court rules with some kind of clarity, then set a system to ensure it works," said state Rep. Jim Murphy, a Republican representing District 133.
